Personality
You’d think the sun reflecting on her bell is actually the energy Kin puts out into the world. While she doesn’t always know the best way to go about things, she’s giving it her all and using 100% of her skillset trying. Her large heart allows her to score a wide variety of gigs across the land.
Unfortunately, her lack of actual prowess in any particular category means her best is usually leagues below others. Kin doesn’t question why most things happen, like how her hands are so dextrous despite the lack of any real experience, nor why she’s capable of keeping rhythm perfectly. However, she’s well aware it’s nowhere near good enough to keep up with the professionals and while it usually doesn’t bother her, it does nip at the back of her mind on her lowest days.
And if you knew her before the present day, you’d wonder where the old her went.
History
Initially a quiet girl with a quieter presence, Kin was introduced to the world alone. Nobody aided her in how to walk, how to learn, how to eat or sleep or read. She was trapped in her own private purgatory, isolated from everything and everyone.
That is, until the villagers returned. Her home, once an abandoned ghost town, became revitalized as repairs steadily made her once overgrown prison into a place of celebration and whimsy. She had learned so much from them, and even if they could never actually interact for some reason, she appreciated their presence all the same.
The person she treasured the most was an old tyrantrum who rang the bell residing next to her twice a day. She always wondered why it felt weird when it was struck, but if it meant seeing him, she would tolerate it a million times more.
But the storms ravaged everything. If it wasn’t for her quick thinking, she likely would’ve been forced to see it all fall before her eyes. At least she saw the old man get away before she slept.
Quite some time had passed before she awoke to the nightmare once again, now overtaken by flora gone unchecked. Her mind felt fuzzy, unsure why this place felt so tragic in its current state.
Eventually, she found herself under the care of a bronzong who went by Fujiwara no Kotoko. Kotoko ran a geisha house, and under her tutelage, picked up some of the tools of the trade. She was always leagues behind the other maikos, but Kin never gave anything less than her all as her way of showing her gratitude.
It was here that Kin realized she was not like the others, as her body was the bell she usually tied to her hair and she was a tsukumogami.
However, both Kotoko and Kin agreed she couldn’t stay there forever, so with a kokyu in hand to aid in the monetary aspect of travel, she set out to explore the world.
… and returned with no recollection of the past several years. Her bell was incredibly damaged, scratched and incredibly malformed. Even with the repairs Kotoko managed, though, only the geisha understood the severity of what had happened.
And only the geisha could count how many more times this would happen again.

When she sleeps for extended periods of time, her humanoid form rescinds into the bell she wears in her hair. It's led to only a few awkward moments.
Her body can vaguely recall things she's done in the past, even if her mind doesn't remember. For example, if you handed her a kokyu, she would deny having any experience but play better than a beginner would. Your mileage will vary depending on what you ask of her.
She is horrible at keeping time.
Her feet tend to guide her much more often than her head.
You can ring the bell on her hair much like the ropes on a shrine.
Thanks to levitate, she likes to doze off on roofs. Though, sometimes she fears they may break on her.
Do NOT get her started on the idiocy of having 2 names.
Please do not separate her from her bell.

Initially finding her inside her bell, Haru joked about Kin needing to grant 3 wishes. Since then, he's learned she is more than willing to join him on whatever antics he's got ruminating. She thinks he's quite friendly and a great time without realizing the severity of what their actions may be causing. Giving one an idea will cause a dangerous chain reaction of silly ideas.
Kin KonTōju
Two people just willing to do whatever for coin, they can rely on each other to split the work and get it done in a timely manner. She thinks they're a benevolent person for being upfront about everything.
Kin KonKagura Botan
Who knows how Kin got into the pickle she did, but thankfully a kind and awesome Botan helped rescue her out of some mud. She sees him as super cool (and amazing smelling, thank Arceus).
Kin KonRaijuta Arashitani
Kin darted inside the family dojo one day, chased by some ne'er-do-wells. Raijuta, in her infinite awesomeness, aided Kin by throwing JUSTICE in their faces. Kin thinks she's super cool and strong, and if she knew what swooning was, she'd be doing it to Raijuta.
Hotaro HinoMutualKin KonHotaro Hino
The two didn't meet in the borders of Gale Springs, but rather, happened to see each other in their more frequent stomping grounds after. It wasn't until after Kin, being Kin, was stupid and their relationship budded: "if a heart is still beating, but does she even have one?" Thusly, she became a vessel to study. Kin thinks they're totally friends and has no clue of the concern she causes.
Hotaro HinoKin Kon
While trying to treat Kin, Hotaro was left baffled. She's unlike anyone he'd previously understood or treated. Through mutual agreement, Hotaro studies how she "works" aiming to develop treatments that can help her and others like her. He worries for her safety as (in his eyes,) she's accident prone and easily led. He wants to make a breakthrough, so he's ready in the event something happens...
SarantsetsegKin Kon
Recently met her while it was raining in Radiant Harbor. She knocked on her door and was soaked so she invited her in. She wants to be her friend because she seems sweet. Is a bit worried about her though since she said she doesn't eat?! And somehow doesn't mind being wet, and is a bit impressed that she apparently doesn't get sick either? So lucky.
Ae-cha ChouKin Kon
Kin comes to Ae-cha's shrine around twice a year, and Ae-cha gives her access to scrolls/books in exchange for simple tasks (such as handing out flyers off of shrine grounds). She is intrigued by Kin's interest in said scrolls/books, but hasn't yet voiced a question about it. They both also occasionally communicate by humming, finding it to be a faster and easier way to catch up.

usually when making characters, its one idea/character that i go "wait but what if i did X?" in Kin's case, it was listening to an otoMAD featuring matikanefukukitaru... and then i realized how much she felt like other characters (zeno my beloved 🤲 ). the longer i thought about her, though, the more i realized she mightve been based on theseus's ship...

well. when you dont have regular hours, things get kind afunky... but if she sleeps for long enough her actual body disappears, leaving only the bell behind until she wakes oops~
