In Discord, open a direct message to the Pokimono bot. Your message opens a private ticket for mods. Keep using that same DM for follow-ups and for the answers you receive.

When you are fine with a public post instead, use Suggestions & feedback. Full wording is on Follow moderator instructions on the community rules page.

Once you have that role, please create a test character on this site within 24 hours, using the Character builder unless mods told you to use a different flow.

If you need more character slots or extra mon / wallet balance for testing, ask mods in Discord—for example @ a mod where your server allows pings, or open the private Pokimono bot DM (see Follow moderator instructions on the rules page).

Unfortunately, when you leave the Pokimono Discord server, all of your Pokimono site data for that login is removed. The Discord server, bot, and website all cost money to run — hosting is paid for by the server owner — and she can't justify paying to keep storage for members who aren't in the server anymore.

If you left by mistake, you can rejoin Discord and use the current Join steps — but plan on starting fresh on the site (new applications, new roster, new profile progress). The site does not keep a backup you can restore yourself.

What goes away includes:

Your characters. Drafts, applications waiting on mods, and characters already on roster — all removed from the site.

Your profile. What you see on Profile for mon, crafting materials, chat levels, and badges on your case — cleared with the account.

Quest sign-ups under your name — removed.

Art you turned in as yourself — whether mods are still reviewing it or it already shows on your profile — removed.

On Discord, related posts are removed automatically when possible — for example your character application in the mods' queue, your roster listing (including forum-style roster posts when those exist), and an open private ticket you started by DMing the Pokimono bot for the mod team.

If you come back later with the same Discord account, welcome back — follow the current Join checklist and character rules, and treat it as a clean slate.

Pokimono is an art-focused RP group, so there are art requirements for joining and staying on roster. You are expected to create your own artwork for applications and character materials, following the group's guidelines.

At least 15. Enter age as a whole number in the Character builder and on Edit biography. There is no upper limit — use whatever age fits your story.

A gijinka is your character as a mostly human person who still clearly reads as a specific Pokémon (think mostly human body, Pokémon colors and traits, clothes that fit the Sun Empire villages). Full art notes: Characters & applications → General info.

You can have one main character and up to five alts—that is six characters max. Extra slots unlock later; read Member cap, village caps & character slots.

Open Profile → Characters. Each card has Retire, Withdraw, or Delete at the bottom depending on status.

Retire archives an approved character on your profile while removing them from the public roster and freeing your slot. Withdraw pulls a pending application from the mod queue. Delete permanently removes the character — you must type their name to confirm when they were approved.

No. This reopening is a fresh start for everyone. Prior roster traits and perks—including shiny coloration, one-off approvals, or other exceptions from the closed period—are not carried over, so the same rules apply to returning members and new members alike.

Mods know those things often took real time and effort. The line stays the same for fairness: anything that counts as special under the current rules still has to be earned or approved through the paths open now (for example what the Character builder allows, News sign-ups, Mon Shop items, Arceus Shrine wishes, and other announced rewards). See Can my character be shiny? for shiny palette today.

Yes. Two people can both be the same species. We do not block doubles. Your art, story, and village are what make your character yours. The public Pokédex is only there if you want ideas—not a rule about who got there first.

No. Pokimono does not allow fakemon or fan-made species. Your gijinka must be a real Pokémon from the main-series games—Generations 1 through 9 and the regional forms those games include (see Can I be a Pokémon from an upcoming generation? for what is open today).

Pick an official species and use its canonical typing on your application. You cannot rewrite a Pokémon's types, invent a custom form, or treat a reskin as a new species—for example, a Charizard gijinka must still be Fire/Flying Charizard, not a made-up Fire/Dragon variant.

Your OC's personality, outfit, and story are yours to shape. The species, typing, and evolution line stay as they are in the games unless you change to another official species through approved paths (evolution, a Species Change Voucher, and similar tools).

Application art should read clearly as Edo-period Japanese dress (roughly 1600–1868)—kosode, haori, hakama, obi, samurai formal wear, and similar village clothes. Pre-Edo influences (Heian court layers, kariginu, hitatare, and the like) are fine when they fit the setting.

Nothing after Edo—no Meiji or Taisho modernizations, and no modern casual wear. Fantasy touches from period anime and games (for example Inuyasha) are welcome when the silhouette still reads Edo or earlier. Full guide and reference charts: Characters & applications → Fashion & dress.

Yes, if those parts match the Pokémon you picked. Keep a human-looking face and aim for the group's about 75% human look overall. Step-by-step: Characters & applications → Wings, tails, claws, animal ears.

Right now you can use Pokémon from Generations 1 through 9 (through Scarlet & Violet / Paldea), including regional forms from Alola, Galar, Hisui, and Paldea that already exist in those games.

Pokémon that only exist in a game that is not out yet (for example titles sold as Wind and Waves) are a wait until mods say yes situation. Watch the News page so you do not miss when mods open new species.

Yes. Evolution is optional—you choose when your character grows. On Edit biography, the site checks the same level and item rules as the main Pokémon games for that line. When the games expect something we do not track here (for example trade, friendship, a time of day, or a place on the map), buy an Evolution Voucher in the Mon Shop first if the Evolve card tells you to.

Tick Before you submit in the Evolve section, then use Submit for mod review at the bottom of Edit biography when you want mods to look at the change. Bag evolution items and any Evolution Voucher the row lists are charged when mods approve, not when you submit—keep them in your bag and wallet until then.

To play a different Pokémon on the same character (not the next stage on the same line), buy a Species Change Voucher in the Mon Shop and use it on Edit biography in the Pokémon species section when you pick the new species; use Submit for mod review there too so mods can approve the species and portrait links before it goes live.

If the Evolve card marks a path for moderator review (for example some gender-locked lines), follow what the card and the character rules say, then send it through Submit for mod review with your biography fields in good shape.

The Evolve section tells you when you can send a new evolution request. If another roster update on the same character is still in its first review round with mods, wait for that decision—or revise it when mods ask for changes—before you queue evolution.

Before you tick Before you submit and use Submit for mod review, update your full-body and icon links on Edit biography so they show your OC at the stage you are requesting. If you use a self-managed application sheet, paste the HTTPS link to your updated sheet graphic in the Visual application section too. Mods review that art and the evolution together—almost like resubmitting your application for the new look.

Open Edit biography for that character and go to the Evolve section. The Evolve card lists what still has to be true for each possible next stage — usually level, held items, or evolution items from your bag when those apply here.

When the main games expect a condition the site does not track (for example a trade, friendship, time of day, or being in a specific place), the Evolve card tells you that you need an Evolution Voucher. Buy one in the Mon Shop first so it is in your wallet before you use Submit for mod review—the site checks that you still have it then, and the voucher is charged when mods approve, not when you submit. If the card lists evolution items that get spent in the games, keep those in your bag too—the site charges them when mods approve, not when you submit.

If a path is marked for moderator review (for example some gender-locked lines), finish what the card and character rules ask for first, then use Submit for mod review on Edit biography so mods can check it like any other roster update.

Outside PokiBot battles

To Mega Evolve in roleplay and art, your OC needs a Mega Ring and the matching Mega Stone (unless their species Mega Evolves from a move—see below). You can get a ring from the Mon Shop, a shrine answer, or a mod grant. You still equip it yourself.

Open Edit character. The first time that OC holds something from their bag, spend one Held Item Slot from Profile → Mon Shop. Set the held item to Mega Ring and save.

With the ring and the right stone in the story, your OC's Mega look is what you use in art, comics, and written scenes.

Some species Mega Evolve from a move instead—for example, Dragon Ascent on Rayquaza. Those do not need a Mega Ring or Mega Stone.

When mods approve a look change for group records—a Mega form, another canonical form, or a shiny palette—draw new reference art. Submit updated full-body and icon links on Edit biography for mod review. The site and roster switch to the new look once that art is approved.

Send that art within two weeks of mods confirming the change, or by a later date they give you if you need more time. Until the new art passes review, your previous approved reference stays what the group uses.

Inside PokiBot battles

In /battle wild, you can Mega Evolve once per fight. Tap ✨ Mega Evolve — that turn you Mega Evolve and do not attack; the wild Pokémon still moves. For the rest of the fight, your moves use Mega stats, typing, Vitality, and ability.

You see the button when: List as Mega is approved on your OC, you have a Mega Ring (held or mod-granted), and the stone matches — either the Mega Stone is held, or the Mega Ring is held and the stone is in your bag. Two Mega forms (X vs Y)? Put the stone you want in held. Mega in fights is for wild battles only; member duels stay in base form.

You cannot apply with a shiny character. New applications can never use shiny (alternate) coloration. The Character builder will not even show you a shiny option until moderators have specifically approved shiny for that character.

Shiny has to be earned after your character already exists on the roster — it is not something you can pick when you first apply. You can earn it by petitioning the Arceus Shrine, taking part in announced events, or receiving it directly from a moderator when it fits your character's story. (Legendary and mythical species follow their own separate rules for who can have one — shiny is only ever a different color palette for a species you already have.)

Once moderators say yes, open Edit biography for that character. Draw new full-body and icon reference art showing your character in their shiny colors, check the box labeled Show shiny palette on my public character record, and click Submit shiny palette for mod review. Your character's public roster page, Pokédex entry, and profile will all switch to the shiny art once a moderator approves it.

Shiny is only a visual look for your character on the roster — it is different from a Mega Evolution. It does not change your character's species, moves, or battle stats. Unlike Mega Evolution, there is no held item or Discord command involved; it is purely the art update described above, reviewed by a moderator.

Once your shiny palette has been approved and is showing on your public character record, keep using that same approved art in any group art you make afterward. There is currently no way for members to turn the shiny mark back off themselves from Edit biography.

Application rule in one line: Characters & applications → Shiny palette. Shrine examples: Mechanics → Arceus Shrine → Kinds of petitions. Returning members: Prior shiny from before Pokimono closed.

Pick any village that still has room for a new character. Your Pokémon's type does not pick your home for you. Example: a Charizard gijinka can live in Gale Spring if that village has space and you like that village.

When mods post how full each village is, that shows up on the home page. Read each place's vibe on Villages & regions.

Each village has its own job list on Villages → Jobs. Example: Ninja is for Noir Vale only—it is not on Gale Spring's list. If you want that job, you usually need to live in the village that offers it (and that village needs an open slot).

Read the Changing village, job, or roster details callout above before you request a village or job change.

Not from a normal application. You have to earn one first — usually through events, Arceus Shrine wishes, or whatever mods post on News. Being a long-time, active member helps with review, but the real requirement is earning it that way. Only one person can play each species at a time. See what’s free or taken on Characters → Legendaries. Short version also on Application rules.

Yes. Build them like any other character: clear gijinka read, fits the village, passes the same checks. In fan usage, “pseudo-legendary” usually means specific long three-stage lines with very high base stats (for example Tyranitar, Salamence, or Goodra). Full list and definition: Bulbapedia — Pseudo-legendary Pokémon. Other strong species use the same application bar—you are not limited to that label.

If mods post extra rules for a specific signup, follow those too.

No. You cannot apply as an Ultra Beast. Pick a different species. Ultra Beasts can still show up in lore or mod-run plots; they are just not a playable species choice for members.

The form asks for two moves to start. They must come from that Pokémon's egg moves and level-up learnset (the site pulls that list from the same learnset as the main-series games when it knows the species). After you are approved, you earn more moves through play, events, the Mon Shop, Shrine wishes, and other announced tools.

Replace a Move is a Mon Shop credit (same mon balance as Profile → Wallet): one credit lets you, on that character's profile, swap a known move for another egg or level-up learnset move for your current species. Buy it under Mon Shop, then use it from the character's Moves area when you edit them on the site.

If you start as an already evolved Pokémon, treat moves the games normally teach when that species evolves like any other egg or level-up learnset option: unlock slots through play and shop tools as usual, then add them with Replace a Move on that character's profile so your moves match the species you play.

1) Member level. This is on your account in Pokimono. You get XP from chatting, you show up on the leaderboard, and you can trade levels for mon. Use /levels or open Profile → Levels. It does not automatically make your Pokémon character stronger.

2) Character level (your Pokémon OC). Each approved character has their own level from 1 to 100 (new characters start at 1). That level drives the stats in Pokimono, including rewards from /job work. It goes up from character XP (for example the XP /job work gives). That XP is saved on the character—not the same as member level.

3) Quest rank. Separate again, tracked per character: Rookie → Grand Master, from finishing quests with mod approval. It unlocks harder quest boards and prizes. Table of ranks: Mechanics → Quests (Rank & EXP).
