No. The builder will not let a normal member pick these. Earn it first (event, shrine wish, or whatever News says), then mods unlock the species for your account.

Free only means nobody else has it yet. You still have to earn it. Free ≠ open for a normal application.

No. One approved OC per species on this list. If the row says Taken, pick something else or wait until that one is gone from the roster.

Those are Story NPCs. Mods run them for the group story. You cannot earn them as a member OC.

Yes, if you earn it the normal way (event, shrine wish, or whatever News says). Being around longer and staying active helps mods feel good about approving a legendary, but it is not a separate “you must be old” rule. New members still start with a normal OC for everyday play.

Mod OCs still take a species off the Free list when approved — one of each still applies. Story NPCs stay Story NPCs.
