In busy channels, members often prefix an in-character line with the speaker's name (or nickname) so everyone can tell which roster character is talking. That prefix is sometimes called a character alias or dialogue tag.

In Discord roleplay channels where PokiBot is set up for OC lines (village channels, threads under them, and other spaces mods configure), a line that starts with a matching approved character name and a colon can be picked up by the bot. Each time that happens, that character earns a small amount of home-village reputation—the same cumulative stat as village shifts. See how to earn reputation.

Slash commands still ask you to pick the character in their own menus; the alias pattern is for in-character prose and who is speaking.

A common layout is Character name, a colon, a space, then what they say or do in plain text.

Example

Poki-tan: She leaned on the counter, still smelling like rain from the walk over. “One black tea, please!”

You can use the same idea with a short action beat instead of quoted speech, as long as the name at the start makes the speaker clear.

Villages and project channels sometimes ask for a specific format, extra tags, or thread etiquette. When pins or channel topics spell that out, use those rules for that space.
