Personality
Afflicted with madness, the likes of which robs her of empathy to her fellow gijinka. Fumi is selfish and self-serving to the core, but isn’t entirely unkind. Fumi simply just wants to live her life by her own rules and just have things work out for her, and if anyone stands in her way she will use them as a stepping stone.
Girlfailure might also encapsulate that philosophy.
Some good traits is that Fumi has a clear analytic mind and the motivation to make headway into her research. She is a loyal friend and would help you bury a body no questions asked.
History
Fumi was born the second child of Takuto Aoisora and his concubine “Hinote”. She grew up being treated as the clan’s one and only princess, doted on by her older brother Akiyoshi. A bug type clan was largely powerless to a sandalit’s pheromones, she was probably more potent at stomping over the clan’s will than a Vespiqueen using Attack Order.
In the beginning she did truly want to help people. It started out with bandaging her brother’s hands after he trained with swords. She started learning to make medicinal salves to help reduce bruises and swelling. Herbal teas to help her dad wind down after a long day. Of course her parents supported her, buying her medical textbooks and bringing in tutors. Her future was going to be bright, her brother inheriting her dad’s position as head of a known bug type clan, living the life of a samurai, and her the one who holds down the fort, the healer who patches him up and makes him strong when he returns home.
If only Fumi were the highest authority. There was no doubt she was the daughter of the head of the clan, but the one who calls the shots was of course Takuro’s legal wife. If only…she wasn’t around, then FUMI would be “lady” Aoisora. So what if her thoughts were dangerously treasonous? It’s not a crime until-
Unfortunately for Fumi there was a far more powerful Salazzle on the grounds and her mother firmly stamped out the rebellion. By all rights Fumi should have been executed. Fumi’s mother pleaded with her husband to spare them. Instead Fumi was banished, never to return to Aoisora lands again.
Fumi remembers waking up in Noir Vale after her mother’s brainwashing wore off. There wasn’t much change to her standard of living. She was still a samurai’s daughter, and her mother managed to bag a DAIMYO? Actually that’s an upgrade. Sure her letters back to her dad and brother are blocked and they can’t come visit her casually, but she still loves them like crazy. She gets sent to sensei Sora, in a way a step uncle, but the most renowned apothecary in Noir Vale.
One day news of her father’s failing health reach her ears. He’s bed ridden. Fumi packed all her tinctures and concoctions. She is denied at the border. Crying and screaming, she was desperate. She was a healer in training! She could do something, she could fix him! Her father was dying. The border patrol was unmoved, Fumi was still the criminal who tried to assassinate the head of the Aoisora’s wife. To rub salt on the wound, she was also banned from the funeral, but her mother, his concubine, was allowed. Fumi fell into despair.
What was the point of learning to heal if she couldn’t help the people she loved? What garbage use of her time, studying. What was the point of loving everyone if at the end they don’t even want her around? Useless useless USELESS
Seething with grief and resentment, she moved out to make it out on her own, and is now working at her totally above board apothecary shop.

Likes: Fumi's weakness is that she tends to fall for hot blooded pure of heart shounen protagonist types that seem immune to her charms.

QOTD #6Is your character capable of creating inhuman noises? Something akin to the pokemon they are?
"So here's the thing..." Fumi has yokai in her ancestry somewhere, but instead of getting cool powers like metahuman regeneration or the ability to just level cities with demonic energy she gets lame stuff like a sensitive nose, instinctual flinching of ofuda and some quirky biology. Fumi is basically a were-salazzle like a werewolf but not as cool angsty. New moons she gets baleful polymorphed into an alpha sized Salazzle with none of the minions which includes the "animal" voicebox. Fumi doesn't have a lot of Salazzle vocalization (The sandalit line have dex entries suggesting they're silent ambus predators ecology wise) but she is very much able to keep up with scent messages and pheromone based communication and that might actually be for the worst considering what the sandalit line and known for.

she prefers to hit the fairgrounds and play games, only exception being the goldfish scooping minigame because she doesn't want the responsibility of a pet, let alone a water type ick. If she's with friends she's going to be hitting up home made craft stalls and buy everyone dorky matching bracelets to commemorate the occasion. She's also the type to be silly and see if she can wear a kitsune mask on top of another mask or stack hats. So much junk to collect and share around.
QOTD #4Inspiration board, kin wheel, college of random assortment of photos—whatever it is, what makes up your character? Who or what is their inspiration? Their conceptual theme?
conceptually Fumi is a result of contrasting her mother who was my previous character before pokimono closed the first time. Honoro is emotionally detached, righteous, strives to be a good leader and protect her people. Fumi not wanting to live in her shadow prone to emotional outbursts, makes everything about her and is a terrible team player. She's willing to sacrifice others to achieve her own goals whereas her mother is the type to views herself as willing to make sacrifices in the name of justice. Character wise I do think original Harley Quinn is close to Fumi: a highly intelligent and trained woman who falls from grace because of feelings and continues to cause chaos. QOTD #3Describe your going to bed routine. Do you have any quirks in your sleeping habits? How do you snore?
She has a dedicated skin care routine, who knew a cosmetics store owner would do such a thing XD. She also takes some multivitamin/calcium tablets because of her whole egg laying situation. The only exception is New Moon nights when she does transform into a were-salazzle, because for some insane reason her lizard brain likes it up high and will cling to ceilings, and when she pops back to being human that means falling. Fumi doesn't really snore because her tail makes it hard to roll onto her back. She does bite her pillows and drool though.
QOTD #2What would you do on a rainy day?
What any sensible fire type would do, stay dry and indoors. Fumi also likes humidity when her tail is close to a shed, but it does look silly when she tries to keep herself dry and only stick her butt out to get wet.
QOTD #1who were you closer to as a child? Mom or dad?
Fumi's parents both had harems so she's had different adult figures in her life. Without a doubt the one she's closest to was her biological dad. His death was a catalyst for her grief and subsequent hatred of law and society, and how she just stopped caring about empathy and human life. As for her bio mom, she doesn't hate her, but her instinct as a salazzle means they butt heads in the same room. They can have civil letters to each other. She absolutely loathes lady Aoisora as Fuji sees her as the woman who took her daddy away.
