Personality
Sociable – Since her clan always had gatherings back in the Floating Plains, Saran loves talking to people, despite it sometimes being a bit hard to do because she’s not sure what to talk about half the time but she tries.
Restless – Due to the people of the plains being nomadic, Saran doesn’t like staying still for very long. She’ll always be out and about as long as there’s enough daylight for her to do so or she’ll find something to do while she’s idle.
Crowd Seeking – Saran doesn’t like being left alone for too long so if there’s some kind of event going on somewhere, you bet she’ll go out of her way to try and attend.
Self-conscious – Despite being able to take care of herself, she still worries about how people view her due to her being blind.
History
As a child, Saran’s life was a bit chaotic for her parents due to her constantly trying to headbutt everything, bite whatever was close to her face, and her temper suddenly flaring when she got frustrated about something. At first, her parents were sure what to do to help her until her father came up with an idea and taught her how to make pottery. Or at least he tried to, until he noticed that every time he tried she would try to get so close to the clay that her face was almost pressed into it. Concerned that she could hurt herself if she managed to succeed in doing that, her father told her mother about it then the couple decided to take her to the clan doctor. It took a bit until the doctor came back with the results but when they were done, they told Saran’ parents that she was blind and prescribed the use of a walking cane to her then sent them to the clan’s blacksmith.
During the rest of her childhood, Saran began learning how to use her staff while also being taught how to control her temper and her habit of biting everything that was in front of her face, while also being taught basic skills by the clan’s teachers and their Khagan. Her father taught her how to defend herself and got her an apprenticeship with a pottery maker in their clan, while her mother taught her everything else that’s essential for self-sustaining survival as well as how to mentally map out her surroundings while staying alert.
A few years later, Saran was approached by one of the horse keepers and offered a miniature Ponyta to help be her guide. At first Saran wasn’t sure what to really say, she had heard that horses were good at leading but she didn’t think about asking for one. She was hesitant for a moment but then eventually agreed after talking to her parents about it, which led to her being trained to use a guide horse along with her cane.
Now that she’s a teenager, Saran’s parents approached her and offered her an opportunity after hearing about it from some traders who came to visit the Plains and suggested that she move to the Sun Empire so she could get access to learning how to become even more independent. Hearing this suggestion, Saran was excited but also extremely hesitant. She was used to living in the Floating Plains, all her friends and family was here, her clan. If she moved away then she’d have to try and make friends again and learn about their culture. It took weeks for her to decide if it was a good idea, she asked her parents questions about it until eventually deciding that she would do it as long as she could take her Ponyta with her.

SarantsetsegKin Kon
Recently met her while it was raining in Radiant Harbor. She knocked on her door and was soaked so she invited her in. She wants to be her friend because she seems sweet. Is a bit worried about her though since she said she doesn't eat?! And somehow doesn't mind being wet, and is a bit impressed that she apparently doesn't get sick either? So lucky.
Question of the Day6
QOTD #6Is your character capable of creating inhuman noises? Something akin to the pokemon they are?
Uhm, only when I'm really really angry.
QOTD #5When you go to a festival, what's your favorite thing to do? Get snacks, hang out with friends, play games, ECT?
Uhm.... do big gathering of tribemembers and other tribes count as a festival? Because if so, I really like just hanging out with everybody and listening to all of their old stories and eating the food. If that doesn't count then...maybe the same thing I did at home? Hanging out with friends and eating food and listening to stories?
QOTD #4Inspiration board, kin wheel, college of random assortment of photos—whatever it is, what makes up your character? Who or what is their inspiration? Their conceptual theme?
Nothing. Not a single thing. Saran wasn't inspired by anything. I just wanted a Deino because I love them. 🤷🏾♀️
QOTD #3Describe your going to bed routine. Do you have any quirks in your sleeping habits? How do you snore?
Uhhh, I make sure that Silun's comfy then I make sure everything is still organized in it's place then I wash my face and brush my teeth! I don't think I snore... at least nobody's told me I snore anyway.
QOTD #2What would you do on a rainy day?
I stay home and relax. The ground's too soft and I just would rather not walk around in the rain.
QOTD #1who were you closer to as a child? Mom or dad?
Mmmmm, I think I was closer to my dad than my mom but that's because he taught me pottery and self-defense!
