Sado Muji

Muji was born to a very unremarkable family. In fact she was born to a family that was at or in poverty with her younger sister Nari. Born in the slums of Radiant Harbor, she and her sister once they were old enough often accompanied their parents to the water to scavenge for both scrap to sell and for food. It was grueling work and in reflection, Muji often said that it was not work any child should have to do. She never blamed her parents for their lot in life. Despite their poverty, her parents did their best and made sure Muji and her sister were loved and cared for. Some years later their parents managed to fine better work to provide better for their children. A move that Muji described as, "Something only people with a love for their children would sit up and do."

While her mother found work as a seamstress, her father managed to build himself a boat to take up work as a fisherman and Muji being the oldest often accompanied her father both on fishing trips and to market. It was here that she got not just her sense of justice and her penchant for hard work, but she also learned how to pay attention to contracts, agreements, and how to bind promises. Her father may've been just a fisherman, but he kept the family out of the level of being destitute by negotiating with merchants and his fellow fishermen, by making a record for everything, and by making merchants write down promises and payments in duplicate. Her father would also build excellent relationships by helping his fellow fishermen with their own contracts and see about their well being. This wasn't just being a good neighbor, it was building a network to ensure that his own household would not get cheated.

This life lasted until she and her sister were in their late teens. It was then their parent passed away form an illness that had swept through the slums. Though they were spared, their lives had become completely upended. Muji took over her father's work and her sister her mother's and while callous, feeding two mouths instead of four was far more manageable with their income. Still eventually the two would find their own paths. Muji eventually took what she learned from her father's work and got a job in the administration of the Radiant Harbor and fell out of contact with her sister. Over time she was got promoted and was entrusted with more work until she became the assistant to the Guardian of Radiant Harbor where she is at current day. Using what she learned from her father's work, she is charged with keeping the day to day of the village functioning and keeping the schedules of everyone flowing. Occasionally having to step in personally to either negotiate or demonstrate a show of force.
